HAND-KISSING

Actually, there are many types of hands to kiss.
My country has special days when everyone goes to visit the big family such as grandfather grandmother or relatives like uncles, and aunts. At this time, the younger family members kiss the elder’s hands. The elders sometimes give to money or gifts to them like in the above picture.
Another example is the mafia. The Mafia has a “Godfather.” This is a man who is set up or sets himself up as law and rules over an earthly empire. As a symbol of respect in the Mafia a person would kiss the hand of the Godfather when they meet him as a symbol of respect that. See second picture.
Finally, Hand-kissing is a wonderful means of greeting a lady. It is very common, and unfortunately very commonly abused, in the SCA. Hopefully, this short article will inspire us do it right.
First of all, one kisses a lady's hand in only three social situations:
1.) You already know the lady, and she offers her hand,
2.) You are being introduced to her, and she offers her hand, or
3.) You know the woman intimately and you offer your open hand to her and she accepts it. The other pictures.
